We take book donations!

Donated books are very appreciated! We love re-homing your preloved books into new readers' hands. Donated books help The Tiny Bookshop to keep prices low, spread books to new readers, reduce waste, and keep this little business going. We love receiving donations of used books in good condition. Recent (within five years) fiction and non-fiction are most desired, along with all Maine authors and subjects. Vintage and older books are also great!

Please read the simple guidelines below and email with any questions. Bags or boxes of books can be brought to the shop anytime we are open. If you have a larger amount of books such as an estate or downsizing situation, please contact us to discuss.

Donation Guidelines

Good Condition:

Not smelly or smoky
Not water damaged
Not torn or misshapen
Not stained or mildewed
No writing or underlining (owner's name or inscription is ok)

Most Desired:

Maine authors & Maine topics
Recent popular fiction
Recent nonfiction (e.g., history, nature, adventure)
Classics
Poetry

No, Thank You:

Textbooks or magazines
Encyclopedias or dictionaries
Children's books
(we do take YA)
Self-help, cookbooks, how-to
Mass-market paperbacks (the smaller paperbacks)

Old Books

Yes, we are interested in vintage and antique books!
