"Second-hand books are wild books, homeless books; they have come together in vast flocks of variegated feather, and have a charm which the domesticated volumes of the library lack."
--Virginia Woolf

Tiny Bookshop Story
I opened The Tiny Bookshop in Rockport, Maine in March 2025. A life-long reader and book lover, I often daydreamed of owning a cozy bookshop. After over 20 years working in the tech industry, and with my children now in college, I was finally ready to follow the dream. The Tiny Bookshop is a special neighborhood place where stories are uncovered and shared - stories of our community of readers and book lovers as well as books and authors. Buying and selling used books also supports re-use and reduction of waste. Books I acquire that aren't sold in the shop are redistributed to the community through local schools, retirement homes, and libraries, or recycled for book crafting kits.

Your smiles when you walk in the door, your book recommendations and stories, and your many kind ways of helping this little store succeed are so meaningful. You can support The Tiny Bookshop from near or far - by buying books of course, but also telling your friends, following our social media, attending an event, bringing book donations, giving gift certificates, snagging some store t-shirts, or using our partner services for audiobooks and online book orders. Check with us if you're looking for a specific book - we may have it! We can also special order new books. Thank you!
